It's important to most of us to keep ourselves fit not only physically but also mentally too. And it
simply doesn't occur automatically ! Unless we take care, neither our body nor our brain works to the best of it's
ability.
I find some of these tips quite useful to keep alert and awake. Why don't you try and find out
for yourself?
Food
Remember Carbohydrates act as downers and Proteins generally as uppers.
Researches indicate that fat and carbohydrate rich foods make our brain functioning sluggish.
It is not that protein makes you cleverer than you basically are, they keep the carbos from making
you fuzzy-headed.
So if you need to be mentally alert take care to include some of these in your intake.
skimmed Milk
low fat yoghurt
fruits and nuts
lean beef
sea food
caffein (only a little ) has a positive effect too.
And say No to these (especially when you want to stay mentally sharp)
sweets
cakes
sugary cereals
icecream
and fat rich and starchy foods.
